Hydrangea Hill Suite

by Lorraine, February 10, 2021

Here is another card with my absolute favourite suite, Hydrangea Hill. This suite is available in the January - June 2021 mini catalgoue. This suite doesn't stop giving, the stamp set is a 2 step set and comes with beautiful sentiments, the matching dies cut out the main hydrangea flower and the mini flowers, it also has a flower strip which you can cut out flowers to stick on top of the main stamp and wait there is more....the dies also come with tags to suit the beautiful sentiments. You cant coordinate all of this with the matching designer acetate sheets, gorgeous grape ribbon and pastel pearls. What are you waiting for??

Here are some basic instructions for this card.

  • Basic white thick cardstock base cut at 29cm x 11cm, scored at 14.5cm and ink the inside edges with gorgeous grape.
  • For the front of the card you need 1 piece of the Hydrangea Hill DSP cut to 11cm x 14.5cm (covers the whole front)
  • For the inside you will need 2 coordinating pieces of DSP cut at 10.5cm x 14cm (will leave a small border)
  • For the mechanism inside you will need 4 pieces of Highland Heather cardstock cut to 7cm x 7cm (2 of them cut diagonally in half. 1 piece of Basic White cut to 6.5cm x 6.5cm nad stamp your sentiment, 3 DSP (1 of 1 pattern and 2 of another pattern) cut to 6.5cm x 6.5cm. Leave the single pattern one whole and cut the other 2 diagonally in half (watching the pattern direction if you have one to follow)
  • Now adhere your DSP and basic white cut outs onto the Highland Heather squares.
  • To make the mechanism you will need Basic White cardstock cut to 15cm x 15cm. Score at 7.5cm and then turn and score at 7.5cm on the other edge to form a cross (+), now turn diagonally and score from on corner to the other and fold all score lines. You should now be able to manipulate the mechanism to form a square. Adhere all of your Highland Heather squares down onto the mechanism and continue to fold so its folds easily.
  • To adhere this inside the card, place glue/tape onto one side and line up in the center of the card just below the score line, with the top point of the square at the top (check opening), then put glue/tape on the other side and close the card for it to stick.
  • You can either make a belly strap like i have or you can tie together with ribbon.
